    Principles of Test

DNA is a genetic substance that carries genetic information. All cows inherit DNA from the bred bull and cow, and have DNA genotype, which is a unique genetic pattern that differentiates them from other cows. Bovine DNA test identifies the DNA identity by examining whether the DNA genotypes match each other through genotype analysis in cow samples. Bovine DNA test is a biological offspring test that uses genetic characteristics to determine whether the genotypes of the bull and the cow that are bred match the genotypes of the offspring that was born. Dow Gene DNA Testing Company analyzes and identifies 11 genetic markers recommended by the International Foundation for Animal Genetics (ISAG).

    Test Results

Individual identification and biological offspring identification are possible through the DNA analysis of cow samples.
In the case of individual identification, if all genotypes are matched in all tested genes, it is determined to belong to the same individual. However, if one or more genes show discrepancies, it indicates that they belong to different cattle.

    Application of Test
  • When individual identification is required in the production and distribution stages, etc.
  • When proof of pedigree relationship is required
  • When biological offspring identification is required to clarify the lineage
